Where: The market takes place in the General Store parking lot

What’s so special about this market? Something for everyone: Preserves, organic local produce, books, gifts, crafts, artwork, wondrous creations and more located in the parking lot at the Saturna General Store.
- Joyce and Gord Kelly will perform under the big white tent at Lyall Harbour dock for arriving and departing Tour des Iles guests on Friday, Saturday and Sunday 10am-2pm (approx). This was a huge hit last year!
- The Point Store, conveniently located next to Lyall Harbour dock, will be serving up smokies, homemade pizzas, baked goods and ice cream for hungry Tour des Iles passengers all weekend!
- Saturna Free Store and Recycling Centre will be open on Saturday, June 23rd from 10am-12pm.
The Lighthouse Pub will be hosting an open mic for travelling musicians (specific acts TBA) from 12pm-6pm June 22nd-24th, and will also have food and drink specials for hungry Tour des Iles passengers.
Creative Writing Workshop on Saturna Island
Creating the Imaginary World: Writing Fiction by bestselling historical novelist Roberta Rich
June 23rd, 2018 from 10:30 am to 3:30pm, at the Saturna Island Recreation and Cultural Center
Fiction is an invitation to enter an imaginary world through the senses – smell, touch, sound, texture and taste. In this intensive workshop you will learn about setting, plot, character and dialogue. There will be exercises with writing prompts to stimulate your writerly juices. Participants are also encouraged to bring examples from their own projects to workshop.
Minimum number of participants will be 5, maximum 12. Register by sending an e-transfer to email@example.com for $125. The cost includes lunch, made by Chef Hubertus Surm at Saturna Café, and a glass of wine. Tuition fees will be reimbursed up to 21 days before the event and up to five days before the event if there is a waiting list.
About Roberta: For most of her professional life Roberta Rich was a lawyer in Vancouver, Canada. She left her law practice several years ago and began writing full time. Her trilogy of historical novels set in 16th century Venice and Constantinople, published by Penguin Random House include The Midwife of Venice, The Harem Midwife, and A Trial in Venice. They have been published in over 19 countries and translated into 9 languages. Roberta lives in Vancouver and, in the winter, in Colima, Mexico.
